Houma Thib Region-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocess

Topic:  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Presented by: Tara Whitney, LPC. This workshop participants will:  1. To understand and use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 2. Techniques to deal with people in crisis situation and ability to de-escalate situations using Crisis interventions and personal safety techniques while performing their daily duties.  1.0 Clinical hour.  Pre-registration is required to be awarded CEU credit.


On-Site Registration will be available at the event venue from 11:30am - 12:10pm.


Presenter Bio

Tara is a 2019 Nicholls Graduate with a Master's of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Tara is a 16-year Law Enforcement Officer and is trained and active in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), Crisis Prevention (CPI), and Crisis Intervention (CIT). Tara is trained in Child Custody Evaluation, Family Mediation, Parenting Coordination training. Tara's belief is that dealing with issues immediately and with assistance lessens the impact of trauma. She addresses mental health in a scientific manner with a legal lens. in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), Crisis Prevention
