Impact of Mental Health and Addictive Disorders on Families. Mental health substance misuse/abuse disorders too often result in devastating consequences for those in a close relationship with those who struggle (e.g., families, partners, friends, etc.). Those who attempt to provide support for those struggling with addiction experience incredible stress, confusion, financial issues, and other difficulties. Yet there are very few treatment models designed to help families address the deluge of issues that overwhelms them. This presentation will help therapists understand and address this problem.
