1924: Taking Jane Addams Out of the Box
1924: April 5, 2019; 8:45 am - 4:15 pm. Registration begins at 8:15 am. (Monroe). Taking Jane Addams Out of the Box. Presented by Harrell Weathersby, Ph.D., LCSW. Children’s Coalition for NELA, 117 Hall Street, Monroe, LA 7120 . Recent times make clear that the values and contributions of social work have been under attack. This workshop examines how social work can take a leadership role in reversal of this destructive trend. Focus will be on problem solving techniques with emphasis on ways of “Looking outside the box” using material from models based upon Jungian principles. Participants will engage in a series of exercises to motivate fresh approaches to the current situation based in a problem-solving modality with emphasis on innovative perspectives in the areas of advocacy, cultural diversity and community organization. 6.0 General hours. Pre-registration deadline is 3/29/19. Limited to 40 participants.
