1909: Well Being of Expectant and Birth Parents

McKee, LMSW Covington Behavioral Health, 201 Greenbrier Blvd., Covington, LA 70433. There are many misconceptions and myths surrounding expectant and birth parents who contemplate and decide to make an adoption plan. In this presentation, you will learn about the emotional issues that contribute to a decision about a crisis pregnancy as well as impacts that decision has on those involved, including birth fathers. Factors needed for long term adjustment of birth families as well as recommendations for ethical adoption practice will be presented. 3.0 General hours. Pre-registration deadline is 1/25/19. Limited to 80 participants.
