Terrebonne General Hospital, Medical Atrium Auditorium, 8120 Main St., Houma, LA 70360 This workshop will address the types of abuse and violence that can develop in close interpersonal relationships, including romantic as well as family relationships. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the dynamics that are present within abusive relationships including potential short and long term consequences. The impact of domestic violence on the brain as well as the potential for PTSD will be discussed. Therapeutic techniques to empower victims will be presented. 3.0 Clinical hours. Pre-registration deadline is 4/20/18. Limited to 75 participants.
